Health Matters Most! You could have all the Money in the world and still not enjoy life. With age comes a bigger responsibility to take care of your body. Health Matters to some people more then others, but shoot for the magic number of steps each day, do a full work out, or just start doing something!
Money CAN pay for all of your pills and medical expenses. However; money can not help your bodies natural health which directly effects how you enjoy each and everyday (unless it’s a gym membership). You need a body that runs at it’s peak performance. “Peak” referring to an individuals peak and not compared to any other person.
Everyone is at a different stage of health. You may already have an active life style which is great! If you don’t, we’d like to take this opportunity to give you a little push to get out and start living an active lifestyle.
After speaking with your doctor and know that your healthy enough for physical activity start small. Do short 10-15 minute walks first thing in the morning (your dog will enjoy that). In a week or two double the amount of walking your doing. You’ll be pleasantly surprised how quickly your body will feel the effects of light physical activity on a daily basis. It has been clinically proven that light physical exercise can boost your mood, your body’s immune system, prevent/combat heart disease, and improve the over all quality of life. You don’t have to take our word for it. Check out the New York Times Health Guide
You knew that was coming huh? It’s true. Eating Healthy or just healthier can also help you improve your over all health. It will also improving your quality of life. You can do this with a simple change in food choices. Get one more serving of salad instead of another order of fries. For desert, choose natural sugars in fruit instead of Oreo Cookies (tough one for me, but you can do it). People who make these small changes start to feel better. You can too.
I personally have documented my dietary changes in the past. I would encourage you to do the same. It’s sort of like keeping a short journal of foods you’ve eaten, how your mood is before/during/after meals, and what your body is also feeling. You will feel different after eating certain foods, you notice your energy levels after different foods, and you will start to see trends within food groups. This type of self discovery is invaluable and can help shape your healthy eating habits in the future.
These notes can be put into a journal/diary style app on your phone so you don’t actually have to carry a pen and paper around (unless you want to). Keeping this on record for your self will help you stick to it.
We are not nutritionist here at A&E Watches, however; we are about making smart decisions based on facts around us. You can do it!!
